Bieber show tickets snapped up

KUALA LUMPUR: Hundreds of fans queued up as early as 4am yesterday as they waited for ticket sales for the Justin Bieber "My World Tour" in Malaysia concert to begin at noon. The concert sponsor, Tune Talk Mobile Prepaid, held a one-day ticket sale yesterday for its subscribers at Bangsar Village 2 shopping complex in Bangsar, while the nationwide sale kicks off today.
Within a few hours after the start of the sales, all of the most expensive tickets, priced at RM498 (S$210), were already sold out.
Tune Talk Mobile Prepaid will fly the singer in for a concert due for April 21 at Stadium Merdeka. The rest of the free seating tickets are priced at RM358, RM288, RM188 and RM98 each.

The concert will also be an opportunity for Malaysians to contribute to charity.
Tune Talk chief executive officer Jason Lo said at the concert's press conference yesterday, "We will work with a charitable organisation to share the joy and fun of watching Bieber in live action with the less fortunate.
"Interested parties will be able to take part by purchasing VVIP seats that will go towards sponsoring five underprivileged children to attend the concert."
He added that instead of giving away the VVIP tickets for free, Malaysians could make a change in the children's lives. There are 300 VVIP seats available and each are sold at RM1,000.
Targeting to raise approximately RM150,000 from the VVIP ticket sales, Tune Talk Mobile Prepaid will donate every sen to Rumah Nur Salam, a shelter for poor and discriminated children in Jalan Chow Kit.
Discovered in 2008 through his YouTube videos, the award-winning Canadian Bieber made his name in the international music scene through several of his hits, including One Time, Baby and Somebody To Love.
Bieber's "My World Tour" in Malaysia is promoted by Midas Promotions and JS Concert Productions, in collaboration with Fat Boys and Tune Tones.
Aside from Bieber, Tune Talk Mobile Prepaid had also sponsored American bands Paramore and Deftones.
