Trade Me launches App for iPhone
Online bargain hunting just became a little easier with the launch today of the first ever Trade Me iPhone app.
Apple iPhone users can Bid, Buy Now and manage a range of other functions directly from their Smartphones.
In an update on the Trade Me blog, the development team stated "we've released this app because we see this as an important platform to connect with, and something that will make Trade Me easier to use for a bunch of our members."
While acknowledging it had been a long time coming, the statement explained that building an app was not particularly hard, but building a decent app was. Much of the development time has been spent ensuring that the app felt as like the full Trade Me website as possible.
The first edition is released today with the promise that Trade Me will "be working hard to refine it for version 2 at some stage."
The free app id available here on the iTunes store
Trademe have not said whether they intend to produce apps for other smartphone systems such as the increasingly popular Google Android.
The term "iPhone app" refers to a small programme or application created specifically for use on the Apple iPhone. They are usually available for free or at a small cost from the iTunes App Store and can be downloaded directly to the phone or transferred via a computer.
