A MERE seven weeks after the royal wedding of Kate and William, fashion followers are able to snap up their copy of the dress that stole the limelight.
A slightly adapted replica of Kate's sister Pippa Middleton's figure-hugging white Sarah Burton-designed dress, which subsequently earned her the title of "Her Royal Hotness" after she appeared at Westminster Abbey in April, has hit the shelves at Australian retailer Cue.
Although the Cue version is knee-length as opposed to the full-length dress Pippa wore, it mirrors the raised cowl neckline, capped sleeves and fishtail skirt and retails for $219.
A Cue spokeswoman failed to comment on the dress except to say the dress had been "a successful piece".
Brisbane bridal designer Paul Hunt said he had fielded inquiries about replicating Pippa Middleton's dress for his bridal clients and was producing a dress
inspired by the style for a wedding this year."It's not a direct copy because that's not what we do but it is inspired by it, the back of the dress and the overall shape," Mr Hunt said.
Further designs inspired by Pippa's show stopper are expected in Australian stores over the coming months, including the possibility it will be taken up in some form by fast fashion chain Zara.
Zara is rumoured to open in Brisbane but as yet no date has been given.
