B-town stars are recovering from the hectic IIFA weekend, including Sonakshi Sinha after winning the award for the best newcomer for her performance in Dabangg while her contemporary Anushka Sharma won the award for the best actress for Band Baaja Baarat and beau Ranveer Singh won best newcomer for the same movie.
So all is sounding well on the professional front, however on the personal front, Anushka didn’t have the best weekend, firstly the star wasn’t happy about the fact of flying out solo without beau Ranveer who travelled a day later.
To make matters worse, after having rehearsed to her famous dance number in Band Baaja Baarat, the star was told her performance wasn’t up to the mark and the organisers felt Sonakshi was a better fit.
Sources reveal, ‘At the last moment Anushka was replaced by Sonakshi to dance with Ranveer. The organizers said that Anushka was not well prepared, and thus they couldn't take any chances.’
And now for the biggest insult, on winning the award for the best actress, Lisa Ray mispronounced her name as 'Anushka Shankar’; however host Karan Johar quickly corrected the star’s surname.
Furthermore, Sonakshi once expressed on Karan Johar’s chat show that she has a crush on Ranveer, and went on record to say she would love to date him, a comment that didn’t settle too well with girlfriend Anushka.
Besides winning the award for the best actress, the only other memory Anushka will hold onto is when beau Ranveer, upon accepting his award, said, ‘Thanks Anushka for making me hot!’
