Kelsey Grammer is more than ready to marry new fiancee, Kayte Walsh.
There's just one thing standing in the way: his wife.
Grammer, who split from "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star Camille Donatacci over the summer, is reportedly trying to speed up his divorce proceedings so he and Walsh can tie the knot.
According to TMZ.com, the "Fraiser" star, 55, is seeking bifurcation, in which a judge would officially end the marriage even though terms of the divorce, such as financial agreements, haven't been decided.
Even with bifurcation, Grammer and Donatacci's divorce can't be finalized before January 1, 2011 - exactly six months after the divorce petition was filed, in accordance with California law. But with just days left until the new year, Grammer could become a free man - and again a betrothed man - very soon.
Earlier this month, Grammer's attorney filed court documents requesting joinders for multiple retirement funds and business accounts, making all of them essentially unavailable for any unauthorized withdrawals. While this was originally interpreted as a strike against his estranged wife, TMZ reported that the move was merely protocol for someone requesting bifurcation.
But that's not to say Donatacci, 47, isn't at all angered by her ex's actions.
In fact, a friend of the reality star told TMZ that she "is not surprised but continues to be disappointed at Kelsey's immature and disrespectful behavior."
Grammer's engagement to Walsh - who would be his fourth bride - became public Dec. 6. At the time, the actor's rep told the Daily News that they "got engaged a while ago" and "are very happy."
In August, Grammer confirmed he and Walsh were expecting, only to announce two months later that the 29-year-old had miscarried - an event that sources close to Donatacci suggested was karma.
Grammer and Donatacci, who wed in 1997, have two kids together.
