She was said to have burst into tears when her 32-year-old boyfriend popped the question on Christmas Day during a festive holiday.
It comes just a month after Lily was in hospital recovering from the tragic loss of their unborn baby via miscarriage. Lily was six months pregnant at the time.
After spending plenty of their time in Australia - with Lily a notable fan of the cricket - they went to Bali where Sam proposed at sunset on the balcony of their luxury hotel suite.
Speaking to the Sun, an elated friend of Lily's said that it couldn't have come at a better time, and there wasn't exactly any delay in her response to the big question.
They said: 'Lily is absolutely beaming and emotional at the same time. She had no idea Sam was going to propose and said yes instantly.
'He's been her rock for her since the couple lost their baby and she can't wait to spend the rest of her life with him," it was added.
The actress is on hiatus from her music career after apparently jacking it in for good this year. However, her attitude seems to have thawed a little, and fans will be hoping for her return to the charts in 2011.
