1225-Kevin Costner and Stephen Baldwin Fight Over Oil, not Hollywood Stuff

1225-Kevin Costner and Stephen Baldwin Fight Over Oil, not Hollywood Stuff

We do it all for the money, or so it appears in this new chapter in the Kevin Costner oil-separating technology invention. This past summer when almost everyone and their brother had an idea how to suck the millions of gallons of oil out of the BP Gulf of Mexico oil spill, Kevin Costner had the right stuff. BP first paid him several million to try out the technology and then they outright bought the invention for a cool 50 plus million dollars. A problem is that another actor, Stephen Baldwin and a chap named Spyridon Contogouris say they also had a stake in the company, and that Costner paid them a few million dollars to get them out of the picture only a few days before BP outright bought the whole outfit for the 50 million. How's that for a Hollywood script, except this one is the real McCoy. We think Costner needs to settle this one quickly, out of court. This sort of negative publicity could eat into any future proceeds he might get in the realm of acting, producing and directing. Anyway, sure is odd to read a story about an oil separation invention lawsuit involving people who should already be set for life with the green stuff, in Holly and Bollywood. But who knows, maybe Costner is using his money to come up with another invention, maybe one that denudes tropical storms before they can become monster hurricanes. You heard it here first.
