Today is the 40th anniversary of Jim Morrison's death.

Today is the 40th anniversary of Jim Morrison's death. As lead singer of The Doors, he was one of the most iconic, charismatic and pioneering frontmen in rock music history, even though he was only 27 years old when he died.

His death was made public 2 days after he was buried at Pere Lachaise, attended by just 5 people. Now is reputedly the most-visited cemetery in the world.

His fans from all over the World are celebrating his life and his massive contribution to music. You can find concerts, tribute shows, poetry readings, different art exhibits, walking tours, practically all over the World, but most of the shows are taking place in Paris, France. Even two of his bandmates, keyboardist Ray Manzarek and guitarist Robby Krieger, will mark the anniversary with a sell-out concert in Paris. Today they even launched a website called the Jim Morrison Project. This site is an audio and visual anthology detailing Jim Morrison's life through his music, poetry, films, artwork and spoken words.

Even though he's pass away, he still lives for us through his music.
