filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar revealed that the reason behind his pet project ‘Heroine

Recently, filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar revealed that the reason behind his pet project ‘Heroine’ being shelved was Aishwarya’s carelessness in not disclosing about her pregnancy.
Things turned a killjoy as Aishwarya didn’t reveal about her pregnancy to the makers of ‘Heroine’ and this apparently led to the producers incurring huge losses, as more than 15 days of shooting for the film was already completed.
UTV and Madhur didn’t have a choice but to shelve the film, because Aishwarya, who plays the protagonist in their film, is expecting her first bundle of joy.
Speaking his mind, Madhur wrote on his blog, “Today, I am sitting alone in my office after the plugs being pulled off from my film Heroine. My conscience stands clear as I have been honest to my craft irrespective of the repercussions.
“No which way would I have trampled my dream project on which I have given my sweat and blood for almost 1-1/2 years. This was going to be my most ambitious project of my career.”
Madhur was unaware about Aishwarya’s pregnancy
After much media speculation, Madhur has opened up about Aishwarya keeping him in the dark about her pregnancy.
The director revealed that he came to know about Aishwarya’s pregnancy only after a slew of news channels reported it.
The director also added that if they had known about the completion of her first trimester, he would have prevented the crisis.
Divulging the truth about the stalling of ‘Heroine’, Madhur stated, “The entire event would not have taken place if on the onset the actress would have informed the state of her health an impending maternity.... The truth was hidden from us.
“We learnt about the entire thing from news channels like the rest of the world that the said actress was 4 months pregnant and she was due on November. Film making in Mumbai film industry is not a mere business but one big fraternity who functions on total faith and trust.
Madhur scared of going to office
The director, who is still shell-shocked about the halt of his film, stated that he couldn’t go to his office for eight days, as he was scared to face the people who were part of this project and their livelihood depended on this project.
“The film was announced in Cannes on 13th May while we commenced shooting on 7th June.... There was a gap of 24 days even if we had known the truth behind the maternal state of the actress... things could have been reworked keeping the state of matters in mind accordingly and this crisis could have been averted,” said the filmmaker.
