Haywood game-time decision for Sunday night
DALLAS — The Dallas Mavericks say backup center Brendan Haywood is a "game-time decision" for Sunday night's Game 3 of the NBA finals against the Miami Heat.
Haywood left Game 2 on Thursday with a strained right hip flexor. He was in practice gear when the Mavs held their morning shootaround Sunday, but neither he nor Dallas coach Rick Carlisle offered specifics on how much he was able to do in practice.
As he left the floor, Haywood said, "game-time decision," which is the exact phrasing Carlisle used a few minutes later.
Haywood has five points in the first two games of the finals. The series is tied at a game apiece.
