Shaitan in the city

Shaitan in the city

With looks that defy the stereotypes associated with a Bollywood actress and roles that a newcomer would consider many times over before agreeing to do, Kalki Koechlin is the original daredevil girl of Bollywood.
After making news with Dev.D, Kalki was in the city for the promotion of her new releaseShaitan, which is co-produced by her husband Anurag Kashyap. Kalki talked about her character in the movie and how she manages to pull off such challenging roles with consummate ease.
In Shaitan, Kalki plays Amrita Jayshankar, aka Amy. Amy is an aggressive girl who is trying to come to terms with the loss of her mother. Talking about her role, Kalki says, “I play an NRI girl whose father has just moved to India. She is a rich spoilt brat, who loves living life on the edge. In fact all the characters in the movie live life on the edge.”

KISS CONTROVERSY

Asked about her much hyped kiss with Kirti Kulhari, Koechlin joked that she has been going through a trauma ever since they did the shoot and has also been seeing a psychiatrist! On a more serious note she added that kissing no longer remains a taboo and today actors are ready to experiment more and more and do anything to suit the demands of the script and their character in the movie.
She has got many movies lined up for release. These include Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara which has been directed by Zoya Akhtar and stars Hritik Roshan and Farhan Akhtar. Then she is excited about The Girl in Yellow Boots, which is directed by Anurag and is making waves on the festival circuit.
